This is a recent study I did on the Spikes that remained off an old destroyed pier in Staten Island NYC. There was a cold February rain steadily coming down, that created a beautiful moody seascape. The dozens of linear spikes at this location offered an infinite amount of compositional variations. I shot this day until my camera died!
This is a study I did on a very stormy day. I shot this at Main Beach, in East Hampton, NY. The surf was massive and unridable, so I chose to shoot rather then surf.
Surfing is the biggest passion in my life. I have surfed since I was 5, and I have always lived near the ocean. As a teeneager I was a sponsored competitive surfer, and it remains my favorite activity as an adult. I never leave my house without my camera gear, and my surfboards in my truck!! When I run out of inspiration in nature, I can always stick a surfboard in the sand and take a photo of it.
This is a very original location located on Lazy Point in Amagansett NY. I love the idea that someone many years ago chose to build this simple home in the middle of the bay.
